Topic: Pear Trellis Rust

Pear Trellis Rust is a relatively new disease to this area that has been particularly obvious the past 2 years. It is seen on the thousands of “Bradford” pears and the newer varieties that are present all over Long Island. Margery will present information on symptoms to look for on pears, identification of the disease, methods to help control the disease and other specifics of the disease and its effects. She will also address whether she has seen any differences in susceptibility on the different varieties. Margery will also touch on Oak Wilt updates.
