The tour will be led by Horticulturist Vincent Simeone who has been at Planting Fields for 17 years. Vinnie will show the group highlights, such as a new state of the art Eco-friendly permeable parking lot complete with native plants, bio-s wales and permeable asphalt and cement. In addition, a 3500 square foot state of the art Sensory Garden featuring green technology and plants to stimulate all the senses will be included on the tour, as well as a walk around the grounds to look at the tree replenishment program and garden restoration program that has happened over the last two decades.
Important information will be discussed at the twilight tour such as plant health care, IPM, creating habitat for pollinators and birds and reducing maintenance and the need for pesticides by using low maintenance plants.
